Live streaming & giveaways for the fans included in package

Telephone Giants, Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) yesterday officials announced their partnership with the Kashif & Shanghai Organisation and the Guyana Football federation for this Sunday’s friendly international games between Guyana’s Golden Jaguars and Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors.
Three games will be contested on Sunday kicking off at 16:00hrs with an Under-17 clash between Linden and Georgetown which will be followed by the Under-20’s of Guyana and Trinidad matching skills with the main event featuring the senior ‘Golden Jaguars’ against the Soca Warriors.
Marketing Executive of GT&T Wystan Robertson in feature remarks stated that occasions such as these affords the company the opportunity of demonstrating its commitment to young people; its commitment to a game that they believe really helps in a positive way, the lives of individuals and young sporting persons.
GT&T, Robertson said is quite happy that the ‘Golden Jaguars’ will be having the opportunity of playing against one of the top teams in the Region.
“This game is an indication of what football does for regional integration and we are talking here about a team that has been able to make it to the World Cup coming to Guyana to play a friendly and we all know that in any sport exposure with the larger teams is necessary because that is how teams develop and grow and GT&T is pleased to be able to make this a possibility.”
GT&T will be taking care of accommodation for both Trinidad teams apart from making available free streaming on the internet to the world via their new Emagine connection. Persons wishing to follow the game via the internet can log in to www.guyana-events-live.com.
“GT&T will also be giving spectators a chance to win free tickets for the game, all they have to do is text free ticket to 6203 and they will have a chance to win tickets for Sunday; but in addition to that, once you are in the stadium there will also be a number of GT&T Cellink novelty games that will allow spectators to win exciting prizes including mobile phones (Nokia 2500), cash, free minutes and blue tooth headsets and this is in an effort to get the kind of fun filled environment we want to have.”
GT&T’s character ‘Bluie Max’, popular comedian Chow Pow will be in the stands spearheading the entertainment for the fans while he would also be the goal keeper in another promotion that will involve fans who top up at the games.
Bluie Max explains: “Persons will be given coupons at the games based on the color of the stands they are in and those coupons when filled will go in to a box and at the half time in each of the three games, ten (10) persons will be announced to shoot penalties against me for attractive prizes if they can score.”
Reporting on the way plans have been going to date from the Kashif & Shanghai end of things, Director Kashif Muhammad reported that plans have been going well to date and the response by the Government of Guyana and the Corporate community have been encouraging so far.
“We are extremely grateful for all the assistance we have been getting from all, we are extremely grateful to GT&T for all the help they have been giving us over the years, we have been very good friends and they have been doing a fantastic job in supporting sports in Guyana over the years.”
Muhammad also reported that the arrival of overseas players have been going well, Jason Lloyd and Fabian Brown arrived on Wednesday, Chris Bourne was expected in yesterday while John Rodrigues and Chris Nurse will arrive today.
“I think our team will be very competitive against the Trinidadians who have been having a decent run in their warm up games this past week defeating St. Lucia 3-0 and Antigua & Barbuda 1-0 and these are teams we have been beating in the past quite comfortably. We are looking forward for really exciting games.”
Muhammad renewed the call for the fans to wear gold or bright yellow in support of the ‘Golden Jaguars’.
Trinidad and Tobago’s teams will arrive tomorrow morning ahead of what is anticipated to be two exciting clashes as both teams prepare for Regional tournaments.
The senior teams are whipping into shape for the Digicel Caribbean Cup while the Under-20 are preparing for the Caribbean Football Union World Under-20 qualifying competition. Guyana will be hosting one of the Groups involving the United States Virgin Islands, Grenada and Jamaica from October 6-10.
Tickets, which cost $1,000 went on yesterday and can be obtained at Ashmin’s Office High and Hadfield Streets or the Kashif and Shanghai Office, Irving Street.
