Mechanic, Ryan Coonjah, who was arested after he assaulted R.K. security guard, Leonard Raghubeer, on Sunday night, has been released on $15,000 bail.
Coonjah was granted his pretrial liberty when he appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on a charge of unlawful wounding to which he pleaded not guilty plea.
According to a police report, on Sunday last at Suddie Hospital Compound, Coonjah, who police said was under the influence of alcohol./ after being questioned by Leonard Raghubeer about the nature of his visit, kicked and cuffed the guard about his body.
Police said the 54-year-old guard, who lived at Adventure Village, Essequibo was subsequently taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Coonjah was apphrended a day after the incident. Police said that the mechanic fled the scene, subsequently, after the incident.
From all reports Mr. Raghubeer is said to be recuperating.
