Brooklyn, NY – Team Guyana won the first annual Caribbean Cup Golf tournament under Captain Mark Woseley.
Team Guyana scored a total of 22 points to secure the inaugural cup at Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn, NY in the Seon Bristol (Briso Promotions) co-sponsored event. Another sponsor was Guyanese owned Copy King of New York.

In a close race Team Trinidad & Tobago came in 2nd with 20 points, followed by Team Jamaica with 17 points and Team Barbados rounded out the championship with 13 points.
According to a release, Spirits were high as great golf and great sportsmanship led the way around Brooklyn’s premiere golf venue as the best Caribbean golfers and supporters came out in large numbers to support the event.
Norman Young of Team Trinidad put on a show for the crowds firing the low round of 74, followed close behind by Team Guyana’s own Karl Ramjeet who shot a 78 helping to boost Team Guyana to victory.
With great golf and a great turnout, the Caribbean Cup of golf has proved it’s potential and all involved are excited about the growth of the event in years to come.
With a newly revitalized Marine Park Golf Course as the venue, the Caribbean Cup has found a home in Brooklyn to hold an exciting annual event.
Seon Bristol of Briso Promotions told Kaieteur Sport that as a promoter he has Guyana and Guyanese people at heart and was glad to support a sport involving hi countrymen, who eventually came out successful, which was heartening.
Bristol noted that while boxing promotion is his forte, he is open to sponsor and promote all other sports once Guyana benefits. He noted the well organised way the event was conducted and expressed joy at seeing his countrymen win, noting that it was good to know that we (Guyanese) can compete at a higher level and be successful.
