Weeks after being viciously attacked by his neighbour’s Pit Bulls, Patrick Gordon, a 54- year-old Plummer, is yet to receive any form of compensation from the owner of the dogs.
According to the man, since he was bitten, he has not been able to work, and so maintain his only source of income. He stated that his face had been permanently disfigured as a result of the injuries he sustained.
He is angry over the way he has been treated by the owner of the dogs. “They are aware of my condition and up to now they have not given me a cent.”
In an earlier report, Gordon said that while he was hospitalised, a police officer and the owner of the dogs did approach him and offered some form of compensation, but he did not accept the offer because at the time he was unaware of the extent of his injuries.
He told Kaieteur News that he is planning to move to the court to receive justice.
Patrick Gordon, of 610 Back Circle, East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, had his face ripped apart by his neighbour’s Pit Bulls, on August 23, last.
The man who was severely bitten in the face (the left side requiring stitches from the lip to the earlobe) was on his way home around 03:00hrs the morning, when the dogs pounced on him from between cars that were parked in front of a nearby resident’s yard. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he remained warded for a few days.
