Sep 18, 2010 Letters
Dear Editor,
I refer to the letter published in Kaieteur News on Friday, September 17, 2010, captioned, “Lands and Surveys frustrates house-owner” and would like to provide the clarification as stated below.
Applications for replacement of Certificate of Title and Transfers of Certificate of Title are made to the Land Registry and not to the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission. The Commission, is therefore, not responsible for processing of the application referred to by the letter writer.
The Land Registry is housed in the compound of the Commission, but the Commission has no administrative control over the Land Registry.
The entities are separate and distinct in their operations.
Doorga Persaud
Commissioner of Guyana Lands and Surveys
