Over 60 of the countries best racehorses inclusive of a number of new imports have taken entry for the Annual Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with the True Friendship Committee Charity horserace meet set for tomorrow at the club’s Arima Park West Coast Berbice racetrack.
With over $3.5M in prize monies and trophies at stake and number of feature events on the days’ card, the day’s action is set to be riveting.
Pacesetters Banks DIH Limited once again takes charge of the Feature B class event with prize money totaling over $800,000 with a first prize of $400,000 and trophy and will see the horses galloping over a distance of 1400M. Headlining the entrants which has over 15 entries are the likes of The Message, Miss Orientate, Sweet Caramel, Tropical Passion, Prince Charming and a host of new imports that includes Silver Source, Star Tracer, Zelink and Miss Carina.
Among those competing for the $250,000 winner’s money in the three year old event for horses bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies over 1100M are Stormy Lass, Zelona, Sky in the Limit, Stormy Deal, Fantastic Choice and Harvest.
The two year old event for horses of similar stature and goes over similar distance with the first prize tagged at $ 200,000 has such competitors as Sabrina’s Joy, Money Up Front, Princess Yasmin and Irish Girl.
Night Crescendo fresh from its convincing win in the Guyana Cup will be looking for another bright day as it takes on opponents in the highly competitive E Class event which will see the winner sprinting away with $160,000 also over 1100M. Among those looking for revenge are Sweet Revenge, The Gap, Home Bush Baby, Laura lee In Flight and Bob’s Fortune.
Stiff competition is expected in the event for Guyana bred two year old horses also over 1100M where the winner will get $150,000. With the likes of Royal Salute, Kevin Nordan and Star Ginski expected to lead the way.
Another close encounter is anticipated in the G class event over 1400 Meters, with $140,000, being the winning money. World Class, Zip A De DO Da, Gabriel’s Gold and Gold Romance will all be in the hunt for the gold medal.
Diplomat will be looking for another devastating run in The ‘I’ class event which will have a top prize of $120,000 over a 1200M, but is expected to receive stiff challenge from New World, Dream Girl, Mona Lisa and Savion.
The event for I3 horses has animals such as Spread the News, Sweetness Graphic and Royal Time is expected to be a scorcher as they battle for the $120,000 first prize over 1100M sprint.
The J class event with a winners money set at $100,000 over 1100M will see the likes of Rum Till I Die, Natural Black, Bless Child and Nobody Knows in action.
Other incentives on offer will be for champion jockey and champion trainer compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market.
