Eight-month-old Kenneth Prince of 74 Supply, Mahaica, has been diagnosed with Congenital Cyanotic heart disease. Nicole Jackson, the child’s mother, is seeking financial assistance from the public to aid in the payment of the surgery.
Prince, who has been living with his heart woes for almost his entire little life, is now at the stage where the possibility of him having prolonged life depends entirely on an urgent heart surgery.
According to a medical report produced by Nicole Jackson; the infant was diagnosed after he presented, at four months of age, signs of failure to thrive and “a cardiac murmur was discovered along with central and peripheral cyanosis.
Echocardiography done by the Cardiologist at the Caribbean Heart Institute (CHT) suggested Tetralogy of Fallot and an urgent surgical intervention is recommended. Unfortunately, this type of surgery is not offered in Guyana.
According to Prince’s doctor, the infant will not be able to survive until the New Year without the surgery.
According to the infant’s mother, the family is scheduled to meet with an Indian heart specialist on September 27, next. This meeting can result in the Prince being flown to India for the surgery.
Jackson claims, that the estimated cost of surgery is some US$12,500.
She is now soliciting funds from the public to assist her in doing everything possible to save her only child’s life.
Persons interested in making a contribution of any amount can contact Nicole Jackson on 622-7518 or 228-5788 or make a direct contribution to Republic bank account #2179307.
The saddened mother made it apparent that contributions of any amount will be highly appreciated.
