Play in the Guyana Football Federation Super League continues this weekend with four matches.
Game 1 tomorrow is fixed for the Enmore Ground on the East Coast, Demerara and it will be an all East Coast affair when Buxton United and Victoria Kings will throw down the gauntlet against each other from 16:00 hrs.
Victoria Kings have 14 points and Buxton United 12 points (both teams have a game each in hand) and both teams will want to come out victorious so they can position themselves in comfort zone in the points standing. They are 6th and 7th respectively.
In Game 2 set for Sunday at Blairmont Community Centre Ground, West Berbice from 16:00 hrs, Seawall will travel from the West Side to the East to engage Rosignol United. Seawall are languishing in the cellar position with 5 points and will attempt to win this game in an attempt to beef up their points tally. Meanwhile, Rosignol United who are in 4th position with 20 points will enjoy home advantage and seek win no7.
Game 3 also on Sunday, this time at the GFC from 17:00hrs Camptown and Linden’s Bakewell Top XX will collide in the 1st of 2 games involving Georgetown and Linden Teams. Camptown have been rejuvenated with the input of their new coach, Joseph “Bill” Wilson and are sitting in 2nd position with 22 points.
Bakewell Top XX coached by Collie “Hitman” Hercules lost their last game to the leaders Alpha United at home and are hoping to rebound against the 2nd place team, they are in 8th position with 11 points with a game in hand and that is not in a comfortable position to be since the 9th and 10th placed teams are to be eliminated this year.
Following that, fans at the GFC will see from 19:00hrs GDF and Milerock doing battle in a game which is expected to be full of interest. Milerock who are sitting in 3rd position with 21 points and GDF in 5th position with 19 points will try to out do each other and come out victorious thus putting them in a better position to challenge the leaders.
The Alpha United versus Liquid Gold match has been rescheduled for a later date.
