Bent on continuing its existing relationship with the horseracing fraternity, Digicel offered another hand of support when it presented a cheque for over $300,000 in sponsorship to the District Grand Charity for their Race Meeting which is set for Sunday, at the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice.
The cheque was handed over to member of the True Friendship Committee Desmond Gajraj by Digicel’s Sales Manager Dwayne Scott in the Company’s Boardroom yesterday.
Scott in his remarks revealed that it was the same organisation that first encouraged them to get involve in horseracing and they’ve continued to not only partner with them, but many other organisers of the sport since and he promised sustained support in the future.
Gajraj in his response thanked the Company for its continued generosity to his organisation, adding that because of Digicel’s patronage many disadvantaged and lesser fortunate organisations and persons have been able to benefit from the proceeds of the Meet.
