Reigning national champion Sudesh Fitzgerald easily disposed 2nd place finisher Anil Latchman by a 2-0 margin in the finals of the Open Singles, while Afeez Majid emerged third in the latest Darts tournament held on Sunday last at Granny’s Hangout Bar, Market Street, Better Hope. Fitzgerald had triumphed over Hubert Yearwood in the semifinals, with the latter accounting for the scalp of former national champion Norman Madhoo. While in the other semifinal Latchman got the better of Majid.
However, Madhoo not being outdone teamed up with Latchman to capture the Draw Doubles, ahead of Sherwin Greene and Kishan Ramdeen and Anthony Bissoondyal and Joshua Sahadeo, whom emerged second and third respectively.
And in the Open Doubles, Madhoo once again proved unstoppable teaming up with Colin France to romp home victorious ahead of the second place Greene and Bissoondyal. Emerging third were Vibert Yearwood and Terrence De Mendonca.
Vinood Lumber & Pawn Shop, Ideal Food Supplies, Gems Mining and Zeco Industrial Workshop were the main sponsors for Sunday’s activities.
Meanwhile, Darts Action will continue tomorrow, Friday September 17, from 19:00hrs at Mark’s Darts Club, Brummel Place, Stabroek, compliments of Guyana Animal Health and Veterinary Products. Trophies and cash incentives will be up for grabs.

ACTION SET FOR DEVONSHIRE CASTLE ON SATURDAY
The Devonshire Castle Sports Club of Essequibo Coast will host a champion of champions 10/10 softball cricket competition which will be played on Saturday September 18 at Devonshire Castle ground starting at 2:00pm.
According to the organiser Elroy Stephney, most of the games will be played under lights and the winner will take home $40,000, the runner – up $20,000 and the man of the match in the final $5,000.
The competition will be played on a knockout basis and over 25 teams including the national 10/10 champion Trophy Stall are expected to participate.
