Watson’s family remember Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadmon
Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadmon
The United States of America-based Watson’s family yesterday expressed gratitude for having grown up with and known the late national basketball player, Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadmon, who was laid to rest last week following his death.
Below is the full text of the message from the Watson’s that include Washington D.C Jammers’ team doctor, Dr. Colin Watson and former national football sensation, Clyde ‘Oiler’ Watson. It was with regret that the family could not attend the funeral.
“A famous reggae song words were “Johnny was a good man”. We all came to realise that ‘Knox’ was really a good man. We all know him from our ‘small days’ when he arrived in the City from the ‘country’, which gave him the name ‘country’.
He was a very quiet child, who loved to stay home while his mother was at work. The only time we would see ‘Knox’ was after school. Mrs. Watson treated him like her own son and he was very pleased to have that kind of treatment like our brother.
He had several bouts with (Dr.) Colin (Watson), which he would always lose. However, ‘Knox’ and Colin became inseparable friends until fate ripped them apart.
‘Knox’ had several outstanding qualities as a local basketball legend, but the one we remember was his commitment to family.
He was an awesome father and family friend. We would like to extend to his wife, children and family our sincere gratitude for having an opportunity to share in the life of Knox. He was a fearless and keen analyst and an excellent sportsman”.
