The Ministry of Education is offering free classes in English A and Mathematics for students who wrote the May/June 2010 CSEC examination and secured between Grades One and Three in at least four subjects, excluding English A and Mathematics or at least five subjects with either English A or Mathematics and would like to rewrite the subject(s) in January 2011.
According to the Ministry yesterday, the tuition is being offered free of cost in preparation for the January 2011 CSEC examinations. Students are required to enter and meet the cost for the January 2011 CSEC examination no later than September 24.
“The objective of this initiative on the part of the Ministry of Education is to afford students the opportunity to secure passes (Grades One to Three) in at least six subjects at two sittings including English A and Mathematics.”
Classes in both subjects commence on September 27th at various centers across the country- the locations of which will be made public shortly.
The Ministry noted that students who wish to attend these classes can uplift application forms from the office of the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education, Queen’s College Compound, any Adult Education Association office across the country or a Department of Education office in any of the country’s ten (10) administrative regions.
Application forms must be sent to the Director, NCERD, Kingston, through the Regional Education Officer or Principal Education Officer, no later than September 17.
