Tenelec 50 overs first division tourney bowls off on Sunday

Competition in the Tenelec 50 overs first division tournament is set to bowl off on this Sunday as organisers, Berbice Cricket Board restarts playing following a major improvement in the weather.
The twelve (12) division-one teams in the Ancient County will do battle for the top prizes and the Board has divided the teams into two zones.
Sponsored by Mr. Bobby Deonarine and Tom Gruentzel of Tenelec Inc. of Washington, USA, the BCB Senior Selection Committee will use the competition to identify players for the upcoming Inter County 50 overs tournament.
With nine of the County’s top players in South Africa representing Guyana and two in Barbados at the West Indies Cricket Academy, the younger generation of players has great chance to impress the selectors and gain selection to the senior team or the Berbice ‘A’ team. All matches commence at 09:30hrs.
