Mr. & Ms. Guyana Oswin Jones & Alisha Fortune to defend titles
With just a few days to go before the 2010 Guyana Amateur Body Building & Fitness Federation (GABBFF) Mr. & Ms. Guyana Senior Championships, Giftland Office Max under their Fila brand is the latest entity to lend support to the successful staging of this year’s event.
Yesterday at their Water Street Store, Marketing Manager Compton Babb handed over the company’s contribution to GABBFF President Fiona Harris.
Babb in brief remarks noted that under the Fila brand, they are sponsoring Body Builders Sylvan Gardner and reigning Ms. Guyana Alisha Fortune which already shows their commitment to the sustained growth of the sport. Harris expressed thanks on behalf of the Federation to Babb and Giftland Office Max/Fila.
This year’s championship is set for the National Cultural Centre on Sunday and will feature respective Mr. and Ms. Guyana Oswin Jones and Alisha Fortune coming against the likes of CAC Silver Medalist Marlon Bennett, CAC bronze medalist Alfred Jordan and Clint Duke among others.
Harris disclosed that about 20 athletes will be taking the stage on Sunday. “We will be introducing the men’s fitness and masters’ category.”
The 2010 Central American and Caribbean Championships are slated for Aruba from September 22-26.
Among the other sponsors on board are Hand in Hand Insurance Company, DOCOL, Giftland Office Max, Farfan & Mendes, Fitness Express, Guyoil, Rite Vitamins and Geddes Grant who will be doing sampling of health bars.
