Guyanese cricket lovers will have the opportunity to see the entire Airtel Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament which will be played in South Africa.
Through the efforts of E-Networks Inc. Guyana’s only Cable Provider, local fans will now be able to see Guyana’s ‘Amazon Conquerors’ in action after the entity decided to partner with ESPN Caribbean to bring live coverage of the entire tournament.
Earlier this year, the Company underwent further expansion in the Information Technology Sector when it completed the multimillion dollar acquisition of Broadband Inc. and Freedom Online Wireless Internet Service Providers.
The ‘Amazon Conquerors’, the Caribbean representative is grouped with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Highveld Lions of South Africa, Mumbai Indians and South Australia Redbacks in Group ‘B’ and they open their quest for top honours with a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday at Centurion Park.
The Ramnaresh Sarwan led team will then take on Mumbai Indians on September 16 at Kingsmead in Durban and that game will be followed by the clash against Highveld Lions at the New Wanderers Stadium, while their final preliminary group match is against Australia Redbacks on September 21, at the New Wanderers Stadium.
Apart from the Captain, the other members of the squad are: Travis Dowlin, Lennox Cush, Narsingh Deonarine, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Derwin Christian, Christopher Barnwell, Jonathan Foo, Assad Fudadin, Steven Jacobs, Richard Ramdeen, Esaun Crandon, Royston Crandon, Devendra Bishoo and Paul Wintz.
The Coach is Ravindranauth Seeram, Trainer Orin Bailey and Manager Carl Moore.
Beverley Nelson is the Physiotherapist with Robin Singh as the Analyst.
Meanwhile, representing the Guyana Cricket Board are: President-Chetram Singh, Secretary- Anand Sanasie and Chairman of Selectors- Claude Raphael.
