Off-field action is beginning to warm up ahead of this month end’s big International friendly between Guyana’s ‘Golden Jaguars’ and Trinidad and Tobago’s ‘Soca Warriors’ at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence on Sunday September 26.
Kicking off the ball with regard to corporate support were Mohamed’s Enterprise of Lombard Street, The City Mall of Camp & regent Streets, Mark Interior Communications and Rockies Brazilian Sports Bar of Light Street, Georgetown.
Trinidad and Tobago’s senior male team along with their Under-20’s will match skills with their counterparts from the Land of Many Waters in what is expected to be two exciting and
entertaining matches.
Managing Director of Mohamed’s Enterprise and The City Mall Nazar Mohamed in brief comments when he handed over his contribution to Organiser Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major, Director of the Kashif & Shanghai Organisation, stated that he is very happy to be supporting such a venture on September 26.
“We have always been supporting sports in Guyana and have been on board with the Kashif & Shanghai tournament from its inception. It is our view that these two matches will do a tremendous good for the development of the game in Guyana and we are happy to be a part of this.”
Mohamed said he is encouraging the entire country to come out and rally behind the senior and junior Golden Jaguars and help their teams to roar to victory.
Mark Grimmond, Managing Director of Mark Interior Communications (dealers in gold, cell phones, radio sets and all terrain vehicles) also expressed delight at being a part of what he notes will be two resounding wins for the ‘Golden Jaguars’ on the 26th.
“I am very confident that our teams will whip Trinidad and Tobago at the National Stadium, my staff and I will be there to cheer on our players. We are relay delighted to support this venture because our company believes in the development of sports and young people. I am encouraging others to get on board because this will be Guyana on show and we have to give our boys the best possible platform to win these matches.”
A number of overseas players based in England, USA, New Zealand and Trinidad and Tobago will be here to represent Guyana against a full strength Trinidad and Tobago side.
