Aliann Pompey made good on her commitment to offer prizes to the top three places in the 400m female race of the recently-held President’s/Jefford Track and Field Classic when those that were eligible collected their cash incentive yesterday.
Pompey, who was expected to participate at the meet and who could not get the requisite time off from work to be in Guyana, had set aside US$175 to be divided among the top three places in the race that was held in her honour following her non-participation.
Neisa Allen received US$100 for winning the contest while Letitia Myles and Shannah Thornhill got US$50 and US$25 respectively for placing second and third. Pompey had stated that she will not retire until she is able to compete at home in Guyana.
