Merely hours after the launching of the Super Sixes cricket tournament, the organizers have released the fixtures with the first set of matches scheduled to get underway on Sunday September 5.
Already several sponsors have agreed to support the tournament including GT&T, Ramotar Investments, R & M Shipping, Regal Stationery and Computer Centre, Imran and Sons, GTM, Babulall Mining, PSC Wireless, GNSC, Trophy Stall and Kris.
Several matches will be played tomorrow starting with those in the East Bank zone where Street Warriors opposes Mocha while Igloo Jaguars tackle Lall & Sons. National Milling Company tackles Gods of War while Long Creek Sports Club plays Kris International. Rising Star next plays Young Warriors All Stars. All of these matches would be played on the Diamond ground.
Simultaneously, several matches would be contested in Georgetown starting with Great Debaters up against Disturbing the Peace. Street Warriors will then oppose Queenstown Masjid CC while Phone Paradise takes on Kris Int’l (blue). Medicare 7 next take on Combine Warriors shortly before Black Circle Tigers battle with Tarmac All Stars.
The action continues with GRA All Stars up against JangoTown Superstars followed by Cari Cargo against Victory Youth Group. Transformers then tackle Tarmac All Stars ‘B’ while Leopold United and Back Road Boys compete against each other. Other matches are South Park Tigers versus Supernova A; Cuff All Stars versus Dangerous Mechanics; Royston Photo XI versus GPHC; Demerara Life Conquerors opposes Kingston Cricket Club; Young Achievers versus GT Eagles; Parliament CC battles Untouchables; G T Panthers take on Kitty All Stars while Craig Old Road plays Supernova ‘B’
Matches would also be played on the West Coast Demerara at the Uitvlugt Community Centre Ground when Brutal Jammers oppose Zeelugt Sports Club and at the Leonora Sports Club ground where Invaders tackle Windsor Forest MYO. Young Warriors play Kris International ‘C’ while Trophy Stall Angels come up against Crane Young Warriors. Uitvlugt U-15 then tackles Irfan XI.
Over in Region # 2, on the Essequibo Coast, Santos SC tackles Golden Fleece SC while Adventure Sports Club opposes All Star XI ‘B. Cullen Superstars play El Dorado SC followed by Aurora Knight Riders up against Hibernia SC. United will then take on Suddie Hospital SC before Lion Heart plays Zorg XI. Rising Star plays All Star SC while Supernaam All Stars gets a bye.
In matches being contested in the Essequibo North, also on September 5, Lima Sands play Uplifting SC at the Devonshire Castle Ground while also at that venue Lima United Sports Club battles Young Achievers; Gold Star tackles Richmond Warriors and Capoey opposes Affiance SC.
Walton Hall SC next plays Richmond Titans followed by Police SC battling Cotton Field SC. Also on that day Jungle Fighters play Mainstay Goldstar Club. The action moves to the Pomeroon when Rising Sun plays Cavaliers SC followed by Devonshire Castle up against Pomeroon Oil Mills. Defenders next oppose Capoey Jacklow while Charity SC gets the bye.
The second round of the championships will also be contested starting on Sunday September 5 with several winnings teams being matched against each other.
The tournament is organized by the Guyana Tapeball Association, in collaboration with The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
