Three companies, including one from Trinidad and Tobago, will have their bids assessed for the supply and delivery of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health.
The bids were yesterday opened at that National Procurement and Tender Administration Board in the presence of that body’s members.
The submitted bids were:
Western Scientific Company Limited in Trinidad and Tobago – US$139,166.56
International Pharmaceuticals Agency (Guyana) – G$45,209,411
Meditron Scientific Sales (Guyana) – G$21,379,900
Bids were also submitted and read for a contract for the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority for timber revetment and earthen works at Waterloo, Leguan, in Region Three with an engineer’s estimate of $24,409,600.
The bids for that contract came from:
J Hussein Civil Engineering Consultancy Services – G$23,852,400
M Sukhai Construction Services – G$33, 837,400
S Khan General Construction Services – G$21,631,800
Another project for which bids were submitted and opened was for the supply of a forklift for which four companies submitted proposals for consideration.
For this project the bids were:
Guyana Tractor and Equipment Company – G$6,000,000
Japarts – G$7,950,000
Machinery Corporation of Guyana (MACORP) – G$6,491, 884
Farm Supplies Limited – G$4,034,756.
On this project a representative of one of the companies queried about the engineer’s estimate, but was told this was not available and that the ministry was only in possession of a budgetary allocation.
The provision of security for the Amerindian Affairs Ministry attracted two bids.
RK Security Services submitted a bid of G$2,550,032 whilst Strategic Action Security Limited’s bid was G$1,866, 240.
There were two bids for the procurement of eight computers for the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Micro Design Technology (MDT) submitted a bid of $1,739,738 and Digital Technology submitted their bid for G$1,739,200.
Several technical and price proposals were also submitted for various projects such as remodeling works to the Home Affairs Ministry among others.
