Dear Editor,
Students who wish to continue studies at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination level ‘must have been under 18 years of age on January 1, 2010’ according to the advertisement in the newspapers. This is unfair to students who did not perform well the first time they sat the CSEC examinations.
The Ministry of Education should make representation that the age requirement be 19 years or students should be at least 18 years old on January 1, 2010.
One failure should not spell defeat for anyone. I am 18 years old and I think I deserve a second chance. So I am appealing to the Minister of Education to propose a change to the age requirement.
