GABF saddened by the passing of ‘Knox’ Hadman

The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) has expressed condolences to the family and friends of the late Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadman, a former national basketball player, who had his last shot against cancer early Monday morning.
‘Knox’, who this newspapers also remembers as an avid sport enthusiasts led a quiet and humble life until his death. If one had not known ‘Knox’ had represented this country at the highest level then it would remain that way on his favourite hangout spot, America Street.
Kaieteur Sport also expresses its condolences to the family and friends of the late Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadman, following is the full text of the GABF message:
“The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation was saddened this morning by the news that Stanislaus ‘Knox’ Hadman had passed away. The former Eagles and national player made a significant contribution to the sport in Guyana during the 70s and 80s.
He was one of three Guyanese named on the CARICOM Basketball (All-Star) Team after the inaugural CARICOM Basketball Championships in 1981. The others were Hewley Harry and James Brusche.
He also achieved a 100 percent average shooting from the free throw line. Despite his achievements on the court, his most remarkable quality remained his humility, a virtue fast receding in today’s sporting world.
Hadman was respected by all in the basketball fraternity and he would be greatly missed. On behalf of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation and its President, David Patterson, I extend to the Hadman family, heartfelt condolences on the loss of this truly remarkable Guyanese son.”
