Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two-year-old Eason Patram of 154 Middle Walk Dam, Tempe Village West Coast Berbice, who reportedly drank hydrogen peroxide and died at the Fort Wellington Hospital on Tuesday.
Reports reaching this publication stated that the child’s mother, Melanie Kendall, 32, had acquired the drug to treat an infected toe some time last week.
It was stated that she left the remaining drug in a bottle and placed it on a ledge in the bedroom next to the bed.
The woman it was reported was outside in the hall around 12:45 hrs with a seven-year-old child when she noticed Eason stumbling out of the bedroom frothing from the mouth. She, with the help of other relatives, immediately rushed Eason to the hospital where he died around 13:00 hrs. The mother has been questioned as investigation continues.
