The University of Guyana is facilitating late applications from potential students whose CSEC or CAPE results became available during the third and fourth weeks of August. This is according to Public Relations Officer of the University, Paulette Paul.
The University reopened its application process on Sun, August 21, 2010. As a consequence, there are still a large number of persons whose applications are still being processed, since their documents were only submitted for verification during the course of the week ending August 28.
According to Registrar Vincent Alexander, “There are even instances where the documents are still to be submitted.”
The University wishes to advise the public that once an application has been submitted, it is the University’s intention to process the application; hence such applicants should continue to track the progress of their applications online.
The Registrar further stated that, “In instances where documents have been submitted, but there is no indication of this in the online information, those applicants should contact the Admissions Division of the University.”
The Public Relations Officer disclosed that applicants who have been approved should proceed to register online. Registration is only complete when the student ID card is uplifted from the Admissions Division. Applicants are further advised to read the online instructions carefully and follow through with their registration to the point of uplifting an ID card.
The short period between the release of CAPE and CSEC results and the opening of the University has made the document checking of late registrants much more tedious but unavoidably so, if applicants are to be considered for admission for the 2010-2011 academic year.
