Cush arrives for clash against T&T tomorrow

First-Class off-spinning all-rounder Zaheer Mohamed will lead the East Coast Jaguars against the Georgetown Pit bulls from 16:00hrs on Sunday at the Guyana National Stadium Providence before Guyana face Trinidad and Tobago in game two of their 20/20 cricket match-up from 20:00hrs.
Mohamed will have former Guyana opener Krishna Arjune as his Vice Captain while Ryan Ramdass, who played his only Test against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in 2005, is also in the East Coast line-up.
Former National Under-19 opener Chris Pattadin and left-handed GCC batsman Wasim Haslim are among four specialist openers in the East Coast side which also included the versatile Clive Andries, a former Guyana Under-19 off-spinning all-rounder who has also represented his country in Football.
New Line Cavaliers of West Demerara and the Universal DVD Club Berbice Titans will play the opening match of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) two-day 20/20 cricket Festival from 16:00hrs tomorrow and the gates will be opened from 15:00hrs each day.
Tickets are already on sale at several locations around the country including the GCB office at Bourda and children Under 12 years-old will be admitted free.

field and the GCB is encouraging fans to wear green or yellow to show their support for the Ramnaresh Sarwan led Guyana side will be represent the West Indies in next month’s Champions League 20/20 tournament in South Africa.
The matches this weekend have been organized to give the National team competitive practice before they depart for South Africa and to raise funds to assist with the team’s preparations.
Guyana face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opening match in South Africa on September 12.
Meanwhile, experienced all-rounder Lennox Cush arrived home yesterday after scoring a century this week for the USA in the final of ICC Division 4 50-overs competition against host team Italy.
The 35-year-old Cush who played a key role with the ball to finish with the most wickets and help Guyana win the Caribbean 20/20 Championship last month, said despite being tired from all the recent traveling after 5 consecutive days of cricket in Italy, he was delighted be back with his teammates and is looking forward to this weekend’s matches against T&T at Providence.
