A gruesome accident at Kairuni on the Linden/Soesdyke highway has left two men dead and three others hospitalised with injuries not considered life threatening, according to informed sources.
One of the dead men, Christopher George of Kairuni was grotesquely mutilated. The entire back of his head was sliced off and so was one of his legs. His entrails were also protruding from his abdomen.
The back of his head and foot were placed in a salt bag next to his body in the vehicle that transported the two dead persons to the Linden Hospital Complex.
The other dead man who was a passenger in the car that was involved in the accident, had no visible injuries, but was bloodied. He was only identified as Justin of Sunflower Street, Wismar. Efforts to locate his relatives were however futile.
According to an eyewitness, George was walking down the highway on the left hand side, going in the northern direction, when the blue Starlet Turbo car, PLL 9021, which was on its way to Linden, ‘flew’ around the turn, and careened off the road.
As it tried to avoid hitting a child it hit George, pitching him about four hundred yards away into the bushes.
The car, which was speeding, cleared a path in the bushes, as it turned turtle several times.
The Driver Elton George, 37 of North Bent Street, Wortmanville received blunt trauma to the chest, according to reliable sources.
Keon Mona, a passenger in the car was reportedly asleep when the accident occurred.
Thirty eight year old Deon Walcott, known as ‘Country’ of First Alley Wismar, received injuries to the eyes and hands.
He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
