YK Investments Pawn Shop adds its name to the list
YK Investments Pawn Shop became the latest entity to add its support to the President’s/ Jefford Track & Field Classic after CEO Marlon Yenkana presented a cheque to coordinator of the event Edison Jefford yesterday, at the business location on Regent Street.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Yenkana, who is an ardent supporter of athletes and staunch sports enthusiast, said that the gesture is another clear example about his passion for sports, adding that since he was approached, he had no hesitation in offering his entity’s support to the Classic.
“Knowing the high standard of the Organisers, I have confidence that the event will be well organised and I’m hoping that the bar is not set so high that it places a lot of pressure on those interested in getting involved in similar activities,” Yenkana stated.
The young businessman, who has been known to support many other persons involved in sports in the past including West Indies Under-19 opener Trevon Griffith wished the organisers well and promised his support in the future.
Jefford in response thanked Yenkana for his support, adding that he really admired how quickly he got a positive reply and it shows that many business entities despite the state of the economy are still willing to give their money to good causes, especially when the event is well defined and have persons with the right credentials involved.
He then promised Yenkana a well organised and top-class event that he envisions could become an annual affair on the Athletic Association of Guyana calendar.
