A fire of unknown origin Saturday night gutted a four-bedroom house at Lot 26 Wismar Hill, leaving the occupants with just the clothes on their backs, and a 27 inch television set.
According to the owner of the house, 42 yr old Lynette Forsythe, she was attending a wake at a neighbour’s house when she observed persons running on the road nearby.
“I thought was a fight so I left the card playing and started to run behind them. Then ah see was me house on fire, and I start to holler, and dem boys run and kicked down the front door.”
Unfortunately, the fire had already engulfed the house, and all that was saved was the television set.
“Everything ah own went up in flames. All me important documents- me passport, ID card, everything. I pleading with those in authority to render some kind of assistance.”
For now, Forsythe and her children have sought refuge at her sister’s house, at Wismar Hill foot, behind Riverview Shopping Centre.
Forsythe occupied the four bedroom flat concrete house with her four children, Michelle, Althea, Troy, Odette and her three year old granddaughter Tittania.
