The 2010 Inter-Market Football indoor competition, initially scheduled to kick off tomorrow afternoon, has been rescheduled to Tuesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Georgetown and the organizers have assured that the one day postponement would not hamper the anticipated action packed matches.
This is the fifth edition the tournament and defending champions, Bourda Market would be hard pressed to retain the crown following reports of increased training activity of the other teams. To date, 13 other markets have already registered for the tournament.
Several corporate entities, recognizing the viability of the tournament have already rendered support in cash and kind and yesterday morning Bikers Auto Spares joined the other businesses and contributed a mountain bike for the most outstanding coach of the tournament.
Managing Director of the business place in question, Lennox Hayles, handed over the prize to tournament coordinator, O’Neil Durant at a simple ceremony at the Bikers Auto Spares Hadfield Street headquarters. .
A former boxer of the Guyana Defence Force, Hayles expressed joy in contributing to the tournament especially since he feels that his contribution can serve as the catalyst to youth development. Mr. Durant humbly accepted the gift while relaying his heartfelt gratitude to the cycle store proprietor.
