Participants to walk from Grove to Square of the Revolution
Total Fitness Gym located at Grove Front Road, East Bank Demerara will be hosting a fund raising/fitness walk on Sunday from the East Bank to the Capital City.
Gym Manager/Instructor Videsh Sookram told Kaieteur Sport that apart from the fund raising focus, the gym is aiming to heighten the awareness of fitness and health on the East Bank and Guyana.
“This walk I can assure you will be exciting and fun filled, we will be having our gym jerseys on sale at a minimal cost but that apart, we want to encourage persons to come out and be a part of what is expected to be an exciting walk.”
The event Sookram stated is all part of the gym’s programme to see a fitter and healthier Guyana. Many of the participants taking part in the gym’s ‘Biggest Loser’ competition will be walking on Sunday.
Total Fitness Mania 1, a Bodybuilding and Ms. Best Leg’s competition will take place on Saturday September 11 at the Diamond Community Centre Ground. The Biggest Loser competition will also conclude on September 11. Presently, according to Sookram, the competition has 21 competitors down from 35 when they started.
“We will be down to about 9 or 10 on the final night of competition. I can say that the rivalry has been very fierce and I am very pleased with the level of commitment and focus being shown by all the participants.”
Sunday’s Fitness Walk will commence at 05:00hrs sharp from Total Fitness Gym, Grove Front Road and conclude at the Square of the Revolution.
