Dear Editor,
Barack Obama is of mixed race — a White mother and a Black father. However the White see him as Black and the Blacks see him as Black. When he was voted into office most of us voted for him; those who couldn’t do so physically did so with our hearts because we felt that this non-White president of the USA would see people and things differently from the man he replaced.
He would not go about refering to those who would not be bullied as terrorists.
However what many did not understand was this non-White man is leading a predominantly White establishment, an establishment with wealth and power and hungry for more.
In the circumstances Obama has to show more loyalty than a White man to be fully accepted.
Thus increase in force in Afghanistan and increase in drone bombing—even the baby in the womb when killed is branded a terrorist– allowing Israel to commit every crime against the Palestinians and against the peace activists carrying domestic consumer goods to Gaza and sanctions against Iran.
Those who wondered why Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize should stop wondering.
Looking at the whole scenario it is not difficult to understand why Hugo Chavez in preparing his defences, he, Chavez, knows what the US establishment does to those it does not like.
Just imagine the British and the Americans are annoyed over the freeing of the Lockerbie bomber because of his illness and the said British and Americans admire George W. Bush and Tony Blair for killing Iraqis wholesale.
W.P George
