Dear Editor,
I express my utter dissatisfaction and frustration with the recent spate of power outages experienced by residents on the West Coast of Demerara.
These power outages occur at practically any time of the day, and have become intolerable.
As per schedule, in my area, power outages are expected to occur on Wednesdays. However, in addition to this day, they occur at other times too.
Work and recreation become difficult as I live in morbid fear of blackouts. In my opinion, this situation needs to be addressed, as it causes many inconveniences.
I appreciate the Guyana Power and Lights’ (GPL) efforts to improve the quality of service delivered, and I understand that there are sometimes cogent reasons for unscheduled power outages, such as inclement weather.
We citizens have patiently tolerated the situation, but how longer will we continue to do so?
