The inclement has only succeeded in bringing about a change in venue for tomorrow’s Rising Sun Turf Club and the Brotherhood of St Andrew in the Anglican Diocese one day horserace meet.
The venue has been shifted to the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club at Number Six West Coast Berbice.
With over 65 horses entered and over $3M in Prize money and other goodies up for grabs the show must go on, that’s according to the organisers of the event. With the horseracing season in full swing a bumper crowd is expected to throng the venue and be part of the days programme.
Seven races are still listed on the day’s card; however there are some changes to the days programme. A two year old event for Guyana Bred Horses and an I3 race for horses with one win and lower have been added.
The C class banks DIH sponsored event in the main attraction. While the Three year old Guyana and West Indies bred and the F class races are also top of the line races, the feature C class event which is sponsored by banks DIH has close to $1M in prize money on offer with the winner slated to run away with $400,000 plus the Banks DIH trophy. A top class field has been assembled with the likes of World Class, Sweet Caramel, Night Crescendo, Annie’s Playmate, Sweet Revenge, Madame Butterfly and Delmur Gold all battling for the prize. The distance is 1400M.
Celebration Time headlines those looking to celebrate in the Co-feature 3yrs race for Guyana and West Indies bred horses over 1300M. The winning prize is $250,000 along with a trophy, compliments of Dr. Phillip DaSilva. Sky is the limit, Zeonola, Gabriel’s Gold and Stormy Lass will also be looking to outlast each other.
The F and lower showdown sponsored by A. Ally and Sons General Store will see the likes of Night Crescendo, Laura lee In Flight, Face D Music, Southern Sea, Sir Balajee, The Gap, One of a Kind and Prixie Fire blazing the trail in their quest for $160,000 winner’s money.
Two year Guyana Bred animals will have a chance to show what they are worth in the specially created event for them. The distance is 1100M and $150,000 as been put up as the winning money. A lot will be expected in this race with animals such as Cash Connection, Royal Salute, Nordan Junior, Big Drive, Kevin, King Gambler, Nigerty and Speed Vision in the line up in what is expected to be a fast race.
The G and H and lower gallop will see the likes of Rude Boy, Vanessa, Prospectors Pride, Lyana, Ame Jane and Casino Royal among those looking for royalty in their aim to take away the $140,000 winners stakes.
The ‘I’ class event has a full compliment of runners entered in the usually competitive field. The winner set to race away with $120,000 and among those doing battle are Dream Girl, Funny Side, Little Spike, Savion and Custom Warrior.
The I3 race for horses with one win and lower also has a full compliment of runners –with Infinity, De Gump, Black Beauty, Spread the News, Mona Lisa, Natural Black and Silver Kid headlining those looking to draw down on the $120,000 pole position takings over 1300M.
The champion jockey and Trainer will receive trophies compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda market.
