Following a string of financial support to many other sport disciplines, Digicel continued its trend of assistance towards the development of sports with another exhibition of benevolence with East Coast Demerara-based Full Group Entertainment being the latest recipient.
Member of the Group Benson Gomes received a cheque worth $200,000 from Digicel’s Sales Manager Dwayne Scott for the hosting of the East Coast Emancipation Floodlights Softball Cricket Competition which will be played from July 31-August 1, at the Ogle Community Centre ground.
According to Gomes, the tournament which will be for both Men and Ladies is a 6 overs affair with 16 teams slated to participate in each competition.
Among the other sponsors is Nalico/Nafico who will be sponsoring the second prize, while registration is expected to close tomorrow.

The tournament is being organised in collaboration with the Guyana Softball League.
