… Man found lying on pavement
A post mortem examination conducted yesterday on the remains of Shawn Wilkinson, 39, has ruled out foul play.
The examination which was done by Government Pathologist Dr.Nehaul Singh found that Wilkinson died as a result of advanced Tuberculosis.
His mother, Louisa Wilkinson, yesterday told Kaieteur News that the police have handed over the body to relatives for burial.
She said that the family has not decided when Wilkinson would be buried, but was optimistic that it would be during this week.
Residents made the shocking discovery on Sunday morning after Wilkinson was found lying on the pavement with blood oozing from his nose and ears.
After the discovery, relatives rushed the man to the Georgetown Public Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The dead man’s mother had told this publication that she had last seen Wilkinson around 03:05 hrs on Sunday morning.
“I hear he coming in the yard making plenty noise and I wake up and I told him he always waking me up whenever I sleeping,” she explained.
The woman said that her son came into the house and she went back to bed.
Approximately two hours later, a neighbour shouted to her that her son was lying on the pavement bleeding.
Wilkinson leaves to mourn a son, his mother, six brothers, three sisters and countless other relatives.
