– Stephen Vieira also impressive Andrew King produced another dominant performance that left even his opponents in awe as he crushed the field en route to remaining unbeaten at the end of the day yesterday, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Watched by a fair-sized crowd who braved the indifferent weather to support the local motor racers, King and Superbike king Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira were matchless, thrilling the fans with their skills.
Vieira like King finished the day unbeaten in the Superbike category, while good performances was also recorded by 125cc rider Victor Pires and Mohamed Roshandin.
Kaieteur Sport was unable to secure the entire day’s results and that will be forthcoming whenever it is made available.
Meanwhile, none of the Shifter Karts races were run off due to the low level of confirmation of participation by competitors in the division.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport about his own performance and that of King, Group 4 driver Kevin Jeffrey, who admitted that it was a day of mixed fortunes for him congratulated the veteran on his awe-inspiring display, adding that it was another performance that clearly emphasises that he is among the best in the Caribbean.
Jeffrey disclosed that he was dogged by a turbo booster problem and it was unfortunate that it was not detected much earlier which might have enhanced his chances of putting up a much stiffer challenge to King.
“At first we thought it was a spark plug problem, but then we later found out we were loosing power in the turbo which resulted after a hose went loose,” Jeffrey revealed.
He said after that was rectified, the rain began to fall and with no wet tyres available, that also affected his ability to mount a serious challenge to King.
