Digicel’s Sponsorship Manager Shonette Moore hands over the cheque to GHB President Philip Fernandes in the presence of a few members of the national Ladies squad.
The Guyana Hockey Board received a significant boost from Digicel following the presentation of a cheque worth $800,000 which will go towards the national men’s team who’re currently preparing to travel to Venezuela next month to participate in the Pan American Championships.
Making the presentation to GHB President Philip Fernandes was Digicel’s Sponsorship Manager Shonette Moore.
Meanwhile, Sales Manager Dwayne Scott speaking with Kaieteur Sport shortly after the occasion disclosed that the Company has many more contributions to make to the hockey community throughout the year and even reflected on their past contribution to the women’s national team that held a raffle not so long ago to accrue funds for their participation at the CAC Games in Puerto Rico.
“We have lots more in store to contribute to the hockey fraternity and more will be revealed in the coming months,” Scott said.
The Pan Am Championships run from August 9-13.
