A seven-year old handicapped boy died in a fire at Ant Island, Mazaruni River last Monday, after he was reportedly left at home alone by his grandmother.
Police said that the bedridden child, identified as Manley George, was burned to death when a kerosene lamp apparently fell and started the blaze.
According to a police official, police are awaiting the completion of their investigation before deciding whether to arrest the grandmother.
Meanwhile, the lad’s body has been brought to the city.
