Demerara Power Company yesterday presented a sponsorship cheque to the Western Tigers Football Club President Gordon Gilhuys at its Kingston Head Office.
The contribution was to assist the club’s youth camp which is scheduled to run from July 19 to August 13 at their West Ruimveldt ground.
The Camp caters for youths between the ages of 8-15 and Coach Kavin Pearce will conduct sessions which will last for two hours, from 11:00hrs each day.
Gilhuys, an attorney-at-Law by profession hails from West Ruimveldt and explained that Demerara Power’s contribution will go a long way towards assisting many youngsters in becoming possible future Guyana football stars.
The aim of the programme is to help youths who are interested in football to acquire the fundamental skills and technical understanding of football at an early age.
Western Tigers, the defending Kashif and Shanghi champions is urging all those involved in this camp to fully utilize this opportunity to not only develop their football skills but themselves as individuals also. (Sean Devers)
