Dear Editor,
The President of Guyana has sued the Kaieteur News columnist Freddie Kissoon and Editor, Adam Harris.
This is an interesting development in the use of libel laws. However, the principal defendant in the lawsuit and other Guyanese who are daily subjected to the most vile, profane and malicious invective and images on blogs allegedly linked to the “dirty tricks” component of the Office of the President have no such recourse.
The reason is obvious. The blogs while they defame are sufficiently closeted from open public debate.
