The disappearance of a man and his daughter

There has been an unfolding of some kind in the story of the people who attacked me on May 24 and threw a miasmic substance on me. Unfortunately, for security reasons this has to remain a sealed envelope. Let us pursue the state media’s angle on the incident. Within minutes, a call was made to Kaieteur News and seniors from KN came upon the scene. Within minutes of the attack, NCN television had information on the motive for the assault. It had to do with me soliciting a man’s daughter. And NCN reported that an eyewitness corroborated the father’s statement.
Then a miraculous thing happened. Dozens of people with naked political power who hate me suddenly traveled upon the Road to Damascus and became protective of my name. Before the plot against me unfolded by “this man and his daughter,” I was a hate figure in the corridors of power. Once I slipped up, these anti-Kissoon conspirators had their Roman knives waiting. UG couldn’t find anything against me. The police couldn’t find anything against me. The PPP couldn’t find anything against me, OP propagandists couldn’t find anything against me, the power-possessors couldn’t find anything against me. Then I went into self-destruction.
NCN television found information that had the potential to destroy me. Then came the Road to Damascus. Those who were waiting to crucify an anti-government critic refused to proceed. NCN has since dropped the story. The police that are used to do the political bidding of the political elites have dropped their investigation not that it ever got started. And no one from Freedom House and the Office of the President wants to research the case against Freddie Kissoon whereby he was attacked for trying to sexually molest a young woman. Here is a gift dropped in the lap of those who want see me leave UG and this page.
Important to note is that the young lady can bring a charge against me under the Sexual Molestation Act. What is curiously fascinating is that NCN and the political elites have fulminated against me for less serious offences. I was called a book thief, a poor academic, a man-kisser. Yet the power-wielders do not want to bring forward the man and his daughter. This generosity is unnerving me. When your enemies want to protect you, it is time to get worried. I was indirectly told that I could be offered $20 million to get out of UG and off this page and just ride away quietly wherever the sunset leads me and spend the rest of my days listening to Burt Bacharach (I do love Bacharach’s music madly).
The deal was that if I refuse this miracle of an offer, the man and his daughter would surface and my days as a critic, academic and a human rights activist will be over. I have refused the $20 million. Well, May 24 is when the incident occurred and we are into the second week on July. Still no movement from the PPP, the power-wielders, NCN and the police. What are they waiting for? There are two questions to be asked. First one is why they traveled on the road to Damascus. Secondly why did I reject the $20 million? One answer can be directed to both questions.
First, there was no Road to Damascus. The power-holders have not been converted. They cannot find the man and his daughter because they do not exist. To invent them may bring them into uncertain waters. The embarrassment could have consequences that they may not want to risk. After all, an election is just around the corner and the reigning elites will not want to be at the centre of the opposition campaign whereby they paraded a handicapped man and his mentally challenged daughter to lie on Freddie Kissoon. That would certainly be an unforgivable act to use such physically and mentally challenged people so cheaply.
Secondly, why did I walk way from $20 million? Because there is no man and his daughter to be scared of. The people who threw that dirty substance in my face were employed by the power possessors themselves to warn me and to drive fear into me. At the same time, it sends an intimidating signal to those who want to openly condemn this government for its inhuman mistreatment of this sad nation. Maybe I will be pounced upon again. Maybe I will be shot and killed. So be it? I am not going to be intimidated by naked power Guyana.
