Lennox ‘Pretty Boy’ Allen KO’s Latino in Rd. 6
– stays on track for world title fight
Lennox ‘Pretty Boy’ Allen needed all of 16 seconds of the sixth round to dispose of Victor Paz when the two faced off in a six round bout in a super/middleweight bout at the Mid Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Saturday evening last. The win has improved Allen’s record to 12-0-7.

Allen spoke with Kaieteur Sport moments after winning the bout and said that he was delighted to score yet another important victory on his way to winning a world title for Guyana.
He said that the Latino fighters have always been a tough bunch and he went into the fight with this expectation. “Just as I thought, the guy was as tough as nails,” Allen disclosed. He said that even though he came out victorious, he had to call on his reserves to pull it off.
Allen further said that while he had hoped for a short break from the gym, this is not possible since he was informed that his next bout was slated for August 6 next. The rangy pugilist said that the name of his opponent has not yet been released but he (Allen) is taking no chances.
As such, he plans to return to the ring today so that he could work on a few bothering areas. This is Allen’s second victory since returning to the USA after he had punched out a unanimous point’s decision over Puerto Rican Amador Aceveda at the same venue.
His career was temporarily stalled because of pressing immigration matters that has since been amicably resolved paving the way for the resumption of his career. (Michael Benjamin)
