Texan bodybuilder to guest pose
Come August 29, the National Cultural Centre stage is expected to sizzle with the best bodies male and female when the Guyana Amateur Body Building and Fitness Federation (GABBF) brings off their annual senior championships.
According to a release from President of the Federation Fiona Harris the event is being dubbed ‘Mission of Mega Proportions’ and plans are in train to have a guest poser from Texas USA.
The competition categories are Bantamweight (Up to 65kg inclusive 143 lbs); Lightweight (Up to 70kg inclusive 144lbs-154lbs); Welterweight (Up to 75kg inclusive 155 lbs-165lbs); Light-Middleweight (Up to 80kg inclusive 166 lbs-176 lbs) and Heavyweight (177 lbs and over).
There will also be a Men’s fitness competition apart from the respective category winners facing off in the pose down to determine the Overall Champion. Oswin Jones is the reigning Mr. Guyana.
Female competitors will flex their muscles in the Ms. Fitness Open and Ms. Body Fitness. The reigning Ms. Guyana is Alisha Fortune.
Athletes interested in competing are encouraged to contact the following persons, Seans Sooklall (627 2366), Adrian Andries (657 5609) or Sherlock Rigby (626 6553) on or before August 15.
