Dear Editor,
I’m hoping that this letter will help connect the dots and shed some light on why I came forward to voice my concerns on a blog site I stumbled upon recently (liveinguyana.blogspot.com.).
This same blog has maliciously attacked citizens by posting their pictures and information about their private lives as well as hurled insults at many who hold very high offices in this country.
This alleged Government blog site also uses tons of profanity and lewd language. This site posts materials which are considered offensive, undesirable and or impinging on national security. If this continues then I fully support the decision to make them answer for their stupidity and shut down this site. I cannot stress this point too much but the public will feel no satisfaction until the culprits of this blog site, who are responsible for this mindless and heartless act, are publicly named and humiliated.
It’s been too long that the Guyana Media Critic and this disgraceful ‘blog site’ have been hiding under anonymity and secrecy.
If this were a true blog site, then posts would have generated a mountain of comments. Name just about anything that’s sick in our society today, and it’s on parade in the blogs. On lots of them, even the writing stinks. The easy thing to do would be to remain silent; no one wants to open themselves up to public scrutiny.
It is a little disturbing to me that so many people see this as entertainment. The disgusting things that they have come up with under the guise of free speech and free expression have ruined this country. They are the ones who corrupted our image and they continue to do it.
I hope someone in authority looks into this situation and put a stop to this blog site, because it will continue to tarnish the reputation of innocent Guyanese, and in the end tarnish the international image of our beloved country.
