Xenon Academy of Guyana notched up their first victory in their second game in this year’s Sir Garry Sobers International School’s cricket competition in Barbados.
The Guyanese defeated Bequia Community High of the Grenadines by 5 wickets after dismissing them for 64 in 21 overs and replying with 65-5 in 13 overs.
Bating first on a hard wicket at the James Bryan Sports Complex in Market Hill St Georges, Bequia CH lost wickets at regular intervals as only Chelson Stowe who made 14 with 1 four and a 6, offered any resistance.
Darryl Ross 2-30, Alvin Castello 2- 7, Trarone France 3-6 and Nickail Lawrence 2-5 did the damage with the ball for the South Americans who were led to victory by France who top scored with 27. Toryon Tannis took 2-15 in a losing cause for the Islanders.
