A Kitty resident known as ‘Zagga Zow’ is a prime suspect in the murder of Claudine Inniss, called ‘Ann’, whose mutilated body was found on the seawall last Saturday.
The tall, brown-complexioned man was reportedly the last person to be seen in Inniss’ company.
Two relatives of the slain woman stated that they saw Inniss and ‘Zagga Zow’ arguing before the two left on the man’s bicycle.
The 42-year-old woman’s body was found the following day with two stab wounds to the throat.
However, the victim was only identified on Wednesday. According to one relative, Inniss had confronted the suspect on Friday in Leopold Street. Inniss was repeatedly heard saying “boy, ah want meh thing.”
The relative said that the two eventually left on the suspect’s bicycle.
‘Zagga Zow’ reportedly returned that Friday and asked Inniss’ brother about her whereabouts.
“He say ‘yuh see duh one?’ I say ‘who?’ and he say ‘yuh sister’. I say ‘since y’all lef I ain see she,’” the relative said.
He recalled that the suspect had appeared to be ‘fidgety’ and also observed that there was blood on the man’s left hand.
However, the relatives did not suspect that there was anything amiss, even after Inniss failed to turn up.
They eventually received word that she had been slain and positively identified her remains on Wednesday.
Relatives dismissed suggestions that there is any link between Inniss’ murder and the death of GEB driver Lynden Collins, who was found hanging from a tree on a dam near D’Aguiar Housing Scheme.
The victim was nude, and he had apparently hanged himself with his own belt.
Persons who saw the remains also said that one of his hands was slashed.
A source revealed yesterday that Collins’ clothes were found in the GEB vehicle that he drove.
