Dear Editor,
I am shocked and appalled at a news piece I saw concerning the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) on the Evening News (07/07/2010).
Sometimes I wonder why the GRA no matter how hard they try can never be seen in a positive light.
I have read several notices coming out of the GRA and appearing in the dailies advising the public that they can have their motor vehicle licences renewed at any GRA location country-wide, once there were no changes made to the vehicles. Only owners of minibuses and vans which are registered for the transporting of goods must present their vehicles for examination at the GRA office on Smyth Street for inspection.
In my opinion that is fair, if persons did not make changes to their vehicles they could have gone to any GRA location like I did.
I went to the VAT building on Charlotte Street to renew three licences, and it took me less than 10 minutes to have that done.
So I believe if Guyanese would slow down, and listen they will all save themselves time and money. Pay attention people.
