Dear Editor,
Mr. Lincoln Lewis condemned the Office of the President (Kaieteur News July 4 2010) for pointing to “forms of unacceptable journalism” in Guyanese newspapers. He implies that it is a fundamental right in a democratic state for the press to publish whatever it wants.
Can Mr. Lewis please tell us if he believes there is or isn’t such a phenomenon as “forms of unacceptable journalism”. If so, Mr. Lewis, what are they and what should be done about it in a democratic state like Guyana? What would you do if you were Guyana’s Head of State?
