Cites lack of suitable facilities as primary reason
CONCACAF Director of Competitions Jill Fracisco has informed that they have withdrawn from the CAC Games scheduled for Puerto Rico.
Following is the full text of the letter issued to, among others, their member associations.
Dear Ladies and Gentleman;
This is to advise you that the CONCACAF Executive Committee has decided to withdraw its support from the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Competitions in the 2010 CAC Games in Puerto Rico due to a lack of suitable facilities.
After review and analysis of commissioned inspection reports it is clear that the facilities and conditions do not meet the minimum standards required to conduct these matches.
Therefore, CONCACAF will not assist in the organisation of the events and is withdrawing its staff and match officials.
For the participating teams, you should advise your Olympic Committees of this decision.
