Dear Editor,
I have seen a Sasenarine Singh writing letters to the press sharply criticising the Government. He has nothing good to say about the administration. For him it appears that the Government is always wrong.
This was not always the case. This is a sensational turn around for a man who used to praise this Government to the skies.
This is the same man who up to 2006/2007 was always high in praise of the Government. His description of Bharrat Jagdeo then was God like. He also showered great praise on Minister of Agriculture Robert Persaud. He even spoke at public meetings complimenting the programmes of the Government and the manifesto of the PPP/C. I heard him in Leguan.
Why then this great turn around?
I suspect that he had hoped to land a big job as a Minister or the Governor of the Central Bank or some top position at least a Permanent Secretary.
I say this because it is almost impossible for someone to change their views so radically in such a short time. After all neither the Government nor the President did anything that was so bad to justify such a radical change in position.
Sasenarine Singh is now living abroad. Incidentally I don’t hear Freddie Kissoon cursing him for living abroad and commenting on Guyana’s politics. This is another case of total hypocrisy on the part of Kissoon, but more on this another time.
What is clear is that people like Sasenarinc Singh, and there are many like him do not care one jot about the people of this country. They only care about themselves. They are the worst kind of opportunists. These are people promoting their personal agendas.
It is obvious that having been rejected for a governmental appointment Sasenarinc Singh is trying to get into a big tent. Maybe that is his place.
I am sure as has happened in the past, the people of this country would recognise the long ears beneath the lion’s skin and see that he is not a lion but simply a jackass.
