Banks DIH Marketing Executive Carlton Joao hands over cheque to GFF Organising Secretary Aubrey Major in the presence of the smiling ‘Lady Jags’ players and Management.
Makes financial contribution to GFF
Digicel and Banks DIH Limited yesterday threw their weight behind the ‘Lady Jags’ to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup by defeating Cuba this afternoon at the GCC Ground Bourda in their return clash of the home and away tie.
At their respective entities, both companies expressed confidence that the Guyanese team is equipped with what it takes to take care of the Cubans this afternoon, kick off time is 15:30hrs.
At Digicel, Head of Marketing Jacqueline James said her company has always been there for sports and its development in Guyana and to ensure that their customers are always happy.
“We have always shown our commitment to the development of sports in Guyana and this time around it’s no different.
We are encouraging all Guyanese to come out and support these ladies against Cuba for this very important game.”

Over at Thirst Park, Marketing Executive Carlton Joao in welcoming the Ladies to Banks DIH said it was an absolute pleasure for him to do so.
Joao who said that Banks has a proud an unchallenged record when it comes to support for sports at every level be it male or female in Guyana, recognises that the ‘Lady Jags’ face an uphill task this time around.
“But I know the last time with the support of the Guyanese public and this time as well we will see you succeed against the Cubans.”
Joao stated that the company has gone the extra mile to ensure that fans attending the game would be able to witness the final quarter final game of the FIFA World Cup South Africa between Paraguay and Spain.
“We will have a big screen so all those who attend can come and enjoy both worlds. Come out and have a lot of fun and rally behind your country.”
Joao congratulated the Technical Director and all those who would have played a part and continues to do so in ensuring the success of the Lady Jags.
Both Joao and James were presented with ‘Lady Jags’ tee shirts, an autographed ball and GFF Pendant in appreciation of their committed support.
GFF Organising Secretary Aubrey Major who accepted the cheques expressed gratitude to both Digicel and Banks DIH while encouraging persons to support the products offered by the entities so they will be empowered to continue support for sports and in this case, football.
Kick off time this afternoon is 15:30hrs and Minister of culture Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony is expected to be on hand along with Carlton Joao, Jacqueline James and GFF President Colin Klass to meet the teams before kickoff. (Franklin Wilson)
